Projects:  Turned Bowls and Plates
On-Going

I started turning just for fun and to get an occasional break from house projects.  It is extremely enjoyable, relaxing, and a complete change from any other type of house renovation or woodworking activity that I've tried.  It's also a vortex that can suck you in and make it hard to get back to work.  These are a few of the various projects that I've been able to create that are worth posting for viewing.

Stacking Walnut Bowls.  This three-piece set came from a single length of 3" thick claro walnut.  My wife likes it so well, she uses it as the centerpiece on the dining room table.

Maple and Walnut Cheese Cutting Board, about 10" in diameter and 1 1/2" thick.

Two small padauk bowls, about 7" in diameter and 4" tall.

Small winged bowl made of spalted holly, about 6" diameter, 4" tall.  This is very interesting wood, looks almost like marble.
